Norfolk County can be found along the North shore of Lake Erie in Southwestern Ontario. The county includes the towns of Simcoe, Turkey Point, Port Dover and Long Point - among others. It is fondly referred to as Ontario's Garden. Canada's number one region for growing a variety of crops in Ontario.
After years of primarily being known for their fruit and vegetable crops, and later well known for commercial tobacco farming, the farmers of Norfolk County came to learn that their sandy soils that were also ideal for growing grapes and hops. This led to the spread of the Ontario wine landscape into this area.
Warmth, connection and hospitality are just a few of the words that come to mind when describing this friendly and approachable Ontario county.
Behind the Buzz
Buzz Tour Company was born after Kitchener resident and owner and operator, Christine Dainard, began exploring the Norfolk region with friends. After spending years visiting the beaches in the area, Christine was surprised to find that Norfolk was steadily gaining traction in the Ontario wine scene.
Christine quickly submersed herself into the area to gain insight and knowledge of this growing region, and knew that more people needed to be witness to this incredible up-and-coming wine and food territory.
Social butterfly, self-proclaimed foodie, and enjoyer of carefully crafted adult beverages, Christine decided to leave her career in marketing to get closer to the people, and connect them to fun grown-up getaways to unplug from life.
Christine has a warm and engaging demeanor, is a natural and vibrant host and will leave you wanting to revisit this lovely little nook in Ontario again and again.
